Toys picked for real toddler life, sorted by what your child is learning

We are a family-run toy shop in South Africa, and we stock the things that survive a high chair drop, a teething session and a wash after a juice spill. Wooden puzzles, stacking rings, push-and-pull walkers, sensory balls, shape sorters, bath toys, soft books and ride-on cars, all for ages 0 to 5.

Nothing here is sorted by brand. The shelves follow developmental stage instead, so you can go straight to tummy-time toys, first blocks for grasping, or a pretend-play kitchen set without scrolling past pages of noise.

Couriers reach Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and outlying towns. Click-and-collect from our storeroom is available, and we pack orders the same week. If you are shopping for a birthday or a baby shower, our tummy-time picks and wooden toy checklist are a good place to start.

Reaching a real person, not a ticket queue

Questions about a gift, a missing piece, or whether a walker suits a one-year-old usually land with the same two people who pack the parcels. Here is how to get hold of us and what to expect back.

Gift advice before the party

Send the child's age and what they already own. We reply with two or three stage-appropriate options, usually within a couple of hours during shop hours.

Worth reading before you buy

Three short reads from the shop floor, written for the questions we get asked most often at the counter and over the phone.

Tummy Time Toys That Actually Get Used

A cloth book, a light sensory ball and a flat mirror cover looking, reaching and self-recognition. Short sessions work better than long ones, and a rolled towel under the chest helps while neck muscles catch up.

How to Choose Wooden Toys That Last

Check every edge with a finger, ask what the finish is, and find out how the piece should be cleaned. Beech and rubberwood handle teething and high-chair drops far better than softer woods.

Building a Playroom by Developmental Stage

One basket for grasping and mouthing, a shelf for stacking and sorting, a low box for push-and-pull and pretend play. Rotating a few items at a time keeps the room interesting instead of crowded.

Tell us the age, and we will pack the right toys

Birthdays and baby showers are easier when someone who knows the shelves does the picking. Send a message with the child's age and a rough idea of what they already own, and we will suggest a few pieces that fit the stage they are in right now. Orders placed before the weekend are packed the same week, ready for courier or click-and-collect from the storeroom.
